Austin Moon
Austin Moon is a 15-year old aspiring singer who became a overnight sensation when he borrows Ally's song and made made a video with it with the help of Dez. He struggles to maintain and make money from his new-found stardom. He's best friends with Dez. He's portrayed by Ross Lynch.
Austin is outgoing and super talented, and somewhat naive, but sometimes nice. He can sing, dance, and play all sorts of instruments. Overnight, he becomes an internet sensation by singing one of Ally’s songs (Double Take) in a music video directed by Dez. With his friends’ help, Austin is following his dream of making it in the music business and so is Ally. Austin sings the songs that Ally writes for him. He is shown to be a slight airhead. He also seems to like stuffed animals. As well, as very calm, cool and collected, more of a fun person, who doesn't care about rules!
Ally Dawson
Allyson "Ally" Dawson is a 15-year old aspiring singer-songwriter with an extreme case of stage fright. She wrote the hit song that Austin performed in Rockers and Writers and got him famous. She helps him with his new-found fame. She is best friends with Trish, who is Austin's manager. She is portrayed by Laura Marano.
Ally is a shy girl who has a knack for writing a killer song. She also really cares about helping her friends which often puts her in uncomfortable, but hilarious, situations. One of her biggest fears is being on stage, but as she writes more hit songs, her friends help her to come out of her shell and get used to being on stage. She likes to follow the rules. Ally may be a germaphobe because she gets over disgusted over anything that's dirty. She is awkward at times, especially when she is under pressure. She also hates it when people try to touch her song book, like Austin does every now and then. Every time people try to touch it, she always snaps at them, "Don't touch my book!" Ally also likes pickles and is a terrible dancer as seen in Rockers & Writers and Club Owners & Quinceaneras.
Dezmond "Dez"
Dezmond "Dez" is a 15 year-old aspiring director who films everything he can. He's the one who filmed Austin singing Ally's original song Double Take and posted it online. He is best friends with Austin. Dez easily annoys Trish a lot, but he never knows what he does wrong. Dez and Trish are currently frenemies. He is portrayed by Calum Worthy.
Dez is a funny, random, and quirky guy. He is Austin’s best friend and he also directs Austin's music videos. His weird habit of pulling anything and everything out of his backpack (like a ham or a turtle) amuses his friends. He really is one-of-a-kind. He has red hair and a rather large adams apple. He often notices when people or things look different, but he can never figure out what has changed. He can eat things that would be considered gross or inedible to most people. In other words, he is mostly in his "own little world." He also seems to be "easygoing" sometimes. but he can also be sensitive.
Patricia Maria "Trish" De La Rosa
Patricia Maria "Trish" De la Rosa is a 15-year old fashionista, who becomes Austin's personal stylist and manager. She's also Ally's best friend. She's known to wear a lot of weird uniforms because she goes through lots of jobs. She tends to get annoyed with Dez often, but she may have romantic feelings for him. They are currently frenemies. She is portrayed by Raini Rodriguez.
Trish is very unpredictable, fun, and sometimes sarcastic. She is constantly getting hired and then fired from job after job. She is Ally’s best friend and Austin’s manager. Even though her wild schemes sometimes lead to trouble, she can always count on her friends to help her out of any kind of jam.
